When it comes to food, wine and adventures at El Dorado Royale, a Spa Resort, by Karisma, count me in! The latest Jackson Family Wines™ Culinary Event in the Riviera Maya got me hooked on amazing cuisine paired with delicious food from around the world for a foodie vacation like no other.
I chatted with Chef Julio Gomez, along with Vice President of Food and Beverage Jeroen Hanlo, about what’s behind the magic cuisine at this one-of-a-kind event. The first week of each month is dedicated to the culinary series, which is like the food and wine vacation of your dreams. I can just taste it now! Chefs and winemakers from around the world share their secrets with guests at the El Dorado Royale. From live shows to cooking classes, I feel like I toured the world after just one week at the culinary series.
The El Dorado Royale coordinated an amazing interactive cooking class featuring exquisite Jackson Family Wines™ paired with some majorly delicious food. I never fully appreciated how the right kind of wine could complement a meal until this experience. No wonder they call them accent wines. It’s just like picking the perfect seasoning for a dish. The right wine makes my taste buds say, “Whoo hoo!”
There were also guest chefs at the event. I had the amazing opportunity to meet a chef from Puerto Rico who cooked everything from fish to octopus, and let me say, it was all delicious. I picked up tips on how to prepare these meals at home, so it’s like I’m taking a part of my culinary vacation back home with me. I might not be ready to take on octopus by myself, but maybe I’m brave enough to make panna cotta. After all, there’s always room for dessert at El Dorado Royale!
